Fantastic Negrito
Fantastic Negrito
Fantastic Negrito is black roots music for everyone, blues with a punk attitude from Oakland, California. Formerly recorded under the name Xavier.

Fantastic Negrito is a man’s truth told in the form of black roots music. Each song is a real story about a musician from Oakland who experienced the highs of a million dollar record deal, the lows of a near fatal car accident that left him in a coma, and is now in the phase of rebirth despite his playing hand being mangled. After a long break from music, Fantastic Negrito won NPR's inaugural Tiny Desk Contest in 2015. Since then he's performed with artists including Chris Cornell, Solange, and Temple of the Dog, and this year he will be touring with Sturgill Simpson. His first full-length album The Last Days of Oakland won the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
MAD NOISE
MAD NOISE
From Oakland, CA, fans have described MAD NOISE's sound as everything from "Acoustic Neo-Soul Street-Funk" to "Punk-Blues", crediting their diversity and DIY aesthetic. While deeply rooted in the blues, what makes MAD NOISE inimitable is their ability to draw from styles around the world, from folk and jazz to punk and pop. Their live performances are characterized by their raw energy, intricate vocal harmonies, collective improvisation, and ability to connect with their audiences. MAD NOISE began as a busking band in 2010, entertaining the streets of San Francisco. In only five years, this eclectic ensemble received numerous awards from SF Bay Area press (SF Weekly's and The Daily Californian's "Best of" 2011, and named "Best Band" by SF Bay Guardian 2011, 2012, and 2013). They’ve performed in prestigious venues and festivals along the West Coast, as well as throughout West Africa as part of the US Department of State-sponsored program American Music Abroad in 2015.
